Citations (included in Core + Growth)
Your name, address, phone — consistent across every directory Google trusts
A citation is any online mention of your business. Across dozens of UK directories, hundreds of niche listings, and the data aggregators that feed them all, getting your name/address/phone exactly right everywhere is a foundational local-SEO signal.
We do it properly. Per-niche directory lists, not bulk submissions to low-quality directories that Google ignores. Cleanup as the foundation; ongoing building as the compounding tail on Growth.
What the service delivers
Cleanup and ongoing building, both in the retainer
NAP audit: pull every existing citation for your business, find duplicates, outdated addresses, typos
Cleanup: every citation claimed or fixed in place so the NAP exactly matches your GBP
Data aggregator submission (Acxiom, Localeze, Equifax, Factual)
Major UK directories: Yell, Yelp, Thomson Local, FreeIndex, Hotfrog, Cylex, 192.com
Trade-specific: Checkatrade, TrustATrader, MyBuilder, Rated People; trade-body directories
Healthcare-specific: Doctify, IWantGreatCare, NHS Profile
Manufacturer dealer-locator submissions for any brands you’re accredited to install
Duplicate suppression: identify dupes, consolidate signal to one canonical listing per directory
Per the plan: included in Core (cleanup + monitoring) and Growth (cleanup + monitoring + ongoing building). Not a separate fee.
How I run it
Audit, fix, build
- Step 1. Audit. I pull every existing citation across the relevant UK directories, identify duplicates and inconsistencies, give you a written report of what’s already out there.
- Step 2. Fix. Owner or fix every citation. The wrong-format address, the typo’d phone, the duplicate profile — all consolidated to match your GBP exactly.
- Step 3. Build. On Growth, ongoing monthly submissions to new authoritative directories that fit your niche. Per the plan: cleanup is the foundation, building is the compounding tail.
Questions
Honest answers
Any online mention of your business name, address, and phone number (NAP) on a third-party site — directories like Yell, Yelp, FreeIndex, data aggregators, industry-specific sites, social platforms. Google uses citation consistency as a primary signal that your business is real.
Google cross-references the NAP on your GBP against what it finds on the rest of the web. If your GBP says “123 Church Road, Bristol BS5 9JT” but 17 directories list “123 Church Rd, Bristol BS5 9JT” plus one lists the old flat number, Google’s confidence in your address drops — which directly hits your maps ranking.
Data aggregators (Acxiom, Localeze, Equifax, Factual) feed the rest. Major UK directories: Yell, Yelp, Thomson Local, FreeIndex, Hotfrog, Cylex, 192.com, Touch Local, Scoot, The Best of, Bark. For trades specifically: Checkatrade, TrustATrader, MyBuilder, Rated People. Healthcare: Doctify, IWantGreatCare, NHS profile.
Cleanup = finding every existing citation and fixing it so the NAP matches your GBP exactly. Building = submitting your business to new authoritative directories. Both improve the signal; building compounds further but cleanup is the foundation.
Cleanup is typically 2-4 weeks depending on the number of existing citations. We audit, we fix, we monitor. Building is ongoing — every month we submit to a small batch of new directories that fit your niche.
Duplicates confuse Google’s algorithm — they flag suspicious activity. We identify duplicates, suppress the weaker ones, and consolidate the signal to one canonical listing per directory.
Ready to see what you're working with?
Inconsistent NAP across directories is invisible until you audit. Most local businesses have 5-10 problems they don’t know about. The audit surfaces all of them.
A quick honest note.
Fees cover the work we do, not outcomes we don't control. Once a fee is paid, it's not refundable — the work begins immediately. Search engine rankings, third-party platform decisions, audience reception: those are outside anyone's control. What we control is doing the work, reviewing it personally, and showing you every step in the dashboard. Full terms.
